Our Approach

Because design of any type is subjective, what we think looks good might not always be quite what you have in mind. This can sometimes lead to a great deal of time being wasted and frustration for all involved. Our unique 80:20 approach will very quickly get us to a position where 80% of the look and feel of your new website is agreed within only a few days. Once this is done, the rest is just detail and fine tuning.

The way we achieve this is through a thorough consultation process. Together with you we will discuss your requirements and begin to sketch ideas and thoughts which may or may not make it into the final design. This process will take into consideration the style and feel of the website, the content to be displayed and the structure of this, not forgetting of course the target audience. We will analyse competitor websites with you with a view to seeing what is working (or not as the case may be) for them and even at this early stage we will consider how the site remains optimised for prime search engine ranking.

How long does it take to build a new website?

The answer to this questions varies depending on the number of pages and complexity of design on average the design and development of a 10-20 page website could be built witihin a month providing you are able to supply the necessary content (text, images etc).

How much time will I need to put in?

You will need to make yourself available to work with us throughout the design process to contibute to the look and feel of the website, this can be anything from a couple of days upwards depending on the complexity of the site. We are usually able to advise as to how much of your time we'd need after the initial consultation.

What will I need to provide you with?

Because we don't know your business as well as you do, its best if you provide the content for the site (text, images and maybe videos). By doing this you remain in control over the wording and messages you are giving out through your website and it speeds up the process meaning less billable hours from us. We will be able to advise exactly what you need to provide after the initial consultation.

How much does a new website cost?

Costs are based on the time required by us to deliver your website. This is calculated based on an estimated number of hours. We will provide you with a fixed cost, no obligation quotation for after the inital consultation which will clearly lay out all costs. Nothing will be hidden. Payment milestones may be required depending on the size of the project this will be discussed at the initial consultation.

What if I want changes made later?

Any quotation provided will clearly layout what will be delivered within the scope of the project. Any additional work outside of this will be chargeable on a per hour basis. We do however recognise that a frequently changing website is a good thing and costs should not restrict this. We therefore offer all customers with an annual bank of time to be used for ongoing changes. This time bank is more cost effective than periodic ad-hoc changes.

Will my new website be found at the top of Google?

It is simply not possible for us (or anyone) to guarantee your site being ranked at the top of the major search engines without implementing some form of paid service such as pay per click advertising. We will however guarantee that your website is developed to the very latest standards which will contribute to the success of search engine ranking. As part of the consultation process we will work with you to advise and define the relevant key words and phrases to be used for search engine ranking. Whilst we will not guarantee top rankings, we are usually able to get sites positioned on the first page, depending on the site content and chosen keywords and phrases.
